Punta Conejo

Nomads,
How many Punta Conejo surf camp/spots are there in Baja?

A friend is worrying that her surfer son has not called as he said he would after leaving Canada (he has been gone 10 days and said he would phone "in about a week"). I encouraged this anxious mom to trust her son's ability to take care of himself and suggested a prescription of a few martinis and to wait several more days before calling all the police, hospitals, and border agents between BC and Los Cabos

He has spent several winters at/near Punta Conejo and knows what's what generally, so I am not worried, but am starting to narrow down some possibilities for her before she goes totally mental :saint:

So, no need for a rescue mission....please just let me know which Punta Conejo he is likely headed for.

He is driving a white Toyota Forerunner and is traveling with his girlfriend and their dog (sorry ....no pics of his girlfriend:biggrin:)

Thanks for non-panicked replies:saint:

Unless he has a satellite phone, just how was he going to call...? Is there cell service along the beach there? Good advice Ged!

I am only aware of Rancho El Conejo (40 miles north of La Paz) on the Pacific.

It is popular and unique because it breaks a left. Do you know if he surfs goofyfoot (right foot forward)? If so, that's the spot.

There are sandy roads all the way Todos Santos from there. He could be broken down in there. Theres very little traffic on those roads. There is always the possibility he went up to Scorpion Bay for good surf.

Good luck

No worries

If he's surfing and has his girl friend with him and a dog and probably an ice chest full of Pacificos then he probably forgot about mom.

?Como? Punta Canoas is not close to Punta Conejo. It's all in the Baja but quite a distance apart! An area where it's not known for trouble! Tranquilo. Tio

If he is camping in BCS he has probably gone in search of a dry hotel room! It poured down here on Thursday. Prolly call home for money soon. I can ask around on the beach here In Todos. Most campers disappeared w/rain; a few RVs dug in. Description? News?? Tio

Oh, it can happen (ask Neal Johns), but it is indeed rare! Never has happened to me... not one failure in my three Tacomas... 136,000 miles on #1 in 5 years, 102,000 miles on #2 in 4 years, and 46,000 miles on #3 so far, in 3 years... and I am keeping #3 as it is just awesome!

Punta Conejo Surfer Whereabouts

I asked a question the other day about Punta Conejo whereabouts....a mother is worrying about her surfer son's whereabouts....the hijackers had fun with the post but no one answered the question :(

A friends son in his early 30's is travelling in a white Toyota Forerunner (BC plates) with his girlfriend (Amanda) and their Baja dog and were planning on being at Punta Conejo for camping/surfing.

His name is Anthony (TONY) Bergson and has spent winters surfing Baja so is not a newbie to Baja and surfing.

His mom is VERY worried as he is a week overdue to call/e-mail her as to his safety and whereabouts....a bank withdrawl of $200 was made Saturday but not sure from what bank (looking into that info)....

If anyone sees these folks please tell him to contact his mother PFQ....they are likely between San Juanico and Cabo.....not that that helps too much.

Please keep your eyes open:saint:

Mils gracias

Can we get a picture of the Toyota Forerunner? Is it an old one or a new one?
