Mileage drive time estimate Mexicali - Guerrero Negro
Does anyone know the approximate mileage from Mexicali to Guerrero Negro taking Hiway 5 through San Felipe? Also , approximate drive time ?

I'm making that trip on the 22nd or 23rd...My first time but I think it is about 8 hrs. we are spending the night in ganzaga bay. the Nomads have said
it is really worth spending at least one night.

Don't have any pot, guns or ammo or illegal drugs! That is all they are checking for. Checkpoints last July were at:
32 miles north of San Felipe
1 mile north of Gonzaga Pemex
El Tomatal junction north of Jesus Maria.
San Ignacio.
North of Loreto about 12 miles.
Near La Paz.
That was it on that route south
Others were at El Rosario mesa, near San Vicente, and north of Santo Tomas. They can change!

44 miles per hour average speed? Are there restaurants at every cloverleaf overpass, and rest areas? 44 mph is what I average on Mex 1. They must have
improved that road a lot since I drove it last.

Mexicali-San Felipe: 125 miles (2.5 hrs.)
San Felipe-Alfonsina's Motel: 100 miles (3.0 hrs.)
Alfonsina's-Hwy. 1 (Laguna Chapala): 37 miles (1.5 hrs.)
Laguna Chapala-L.A. Bay Jcn.: 30 miles (.5 hr.)
L.A. Bay Jcn.-Guerrero Negro: 80 miles (2.0 hrs.)
Total 372 miles (subtract 4 if not driving in to Alfonsina's)
Driving time estimates include stops for military checkpoints and photo stops: 9.5 hours total Mexicali-Guerrero Negro. Remember you lose an hour of
time on the clock when you cross the state border near Guerrero Negro.
