Zero degrees at 7:30 this morning here in Big Bear, zero as in no degrees!!

A few years back I happened upon the remains of an abandoned rancho in Baja Sur. Found a grave with father & son who died on the same day. There was no indication what kind of tragedy the family suffered that day. :( :?:

We had 11 F this morning and it was 8.6 F at the ski lifts. By 11:20 it was up to 23 F and I had to wait in line behind four people, so we went home with 16,000 ft. of "frozen smoke" for our morning. I don't think I've ever skied better. The surfing equivalent?

Perfect curl, head high with a moderate offshore breeze, every set identical, effortless "paddle" back to the line-up, and no one ever takes your "wave". SWEET!:lol::lol: Oh, and "paddle-up" to the bar.

15 days til I trade my Mojo 90's for an Ugly Stik!

Rio Linda Ca. 4 miles from the Sacramento International AP

This morning (Sunday) at 6:00 a.m. 23F
Tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. 22F

Unheard of conditions. Our creek is frozen. Oranges are freezing. Unhappy doggies.

Saw snow on Three Virgins and talked to a store owner in Santa Rosalia who told me he had not seen snow up there since 1949.

Manuel’s farms and others in the Mulege valley suffered frozen crops.…losses are great.

CUT N PASTE FROM TODAY'S LA TIMES

L.A. NOW Southern California -- this just in « Previous Post | L.A. NOW Home | Next Post » Brrrr: Record cold temperatures set in L.A. on Monday morning January 14, 2013 | 8:10 am increase text size decrease text size 86 8 Temperatures in downtown Los Angeles dropped to their coldest point in 23 years Monday morning, hitting 34 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, setting a record low for the date. If you thought it was especially cold heading to work Monday morning, you're right. At 7 a.m., the temperature was still at 34. The high is expected to hit 56. Temperatures dropped even lower elsewhere, hitting 31 in Redondo Beach, 29 in Claremont and 14 in Lancaster. Temperatures are expected to begin warming Monday night, with the low dipping to 40 downtown. The high is expected to hit 62 degrees Tuesday. The chilly temperatures are the result of a cold air mass that came in last week from Canada, which combined with high pressure in the Pacific and low pressure toward Arizona, creating clear, cold nights and dry air, said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the weather service. A number of record lows have been set in the past few days in Southern California, including Sunday's low of 35 downtown and 33 degrees at Camarillo Airport, which tied the record. The last time temperatures dropped to freezing downtown was Jan. 29, 1979. The lowest temperature recorded downtown was 28 degrees, most recently on Jan. 4, 1949.

Not too cold, 50º but the wind is howling so it really isn't a day to go play outside. Forecast is for windy and clear but highs only in the mid 50's
