BajaNomad club card
I'm sure it has been discussed here but I can't find it. When I print the card it says "your name goes here" vs my name showing. My membership number
prints fine etc. The last time I stayed at BajaCactus the gal said my name needed to show on that line along with my signature on the signature line.
How do I get the line for the name to either show blank (so I can add my name) or type my name online? Thanks

Thought about a comment Woody made a while back regarding the discount. He said leave it as a tip. That's a good idea but I have another. Why not
show your card and ask Antonio to donate the savings to a local charity?

Good idea. I don't use the card so much for the discount as the ID I leave with the desk. I really don't mind leaving my drivers license but the Baja
Card works as a good alternative.

Show your Nomad card at any deposito and receive 50% off any Tecate product.
Just kidding.

There's a Javascript prompt asking your name when you pull up that page. If you're not seeing it, you've got Javascript turned off - and will need to
turn it on.
http://www.bajanomad.com/club/card.htm
The prompt says:
"Enter your name below as you wish it to appear on the discount card. Choose 'Cancel' if you just want to see what the card looks like."
If nothing is entered, it'll say this instead:
">> Your Name Here << "

Had a funny experience when we drove down in Jan. right after the New Year. Presented my Baja Nomad card at Baja Cactus as usual and they took it as
ID and gave the discount. Later they called the room and told me that my card was expired. They all expire on Dec. 31. So I said thanks and told
her that I would get a new one. The next morning when I checked out, they asked for the extra 40 pesos that they gave me as a discount. Apparently
an expired card does not qualify for the discount. No problem, I paid the 40 pesos. It's such a bargin as it is.
BTW, the Member Number that the card prints is not unique to you. I think it's just a sequential number, if you print a second one out, you get the
next number. Looks official however!!!

The expiration date is set to change to Dec 31 of the following year on Nov 1st each year. So, Nov 1, 2011 to Oct 30, 2012, printed as expiration of
Dec 31, 2012. Nov 1, 2012 through Oct 30, 2013 will print as expiration of Dec 31, 2013. Etc.
And yes, the number is a simple page counter that increments one-by-one as people hit the page. It's sufficient for the entities that have asked for
a club card with unique ID#.

For those people that do not get/see a prompt asking for your name, please let me know (either in a reply here, or via u2u) what browser - and version
# - you're using to access the site.
Is it Internet Explorer 7 ?
Thank you.

baja nomad card
Doug, Thank You, I believe its window xp. On a seperate note, while going to watch whales in early march, is it easier to get lodging in GN during the
week without a reservation, as opposed to the weekend. Not real picky. Thanks, Dennis

Windows XP would be an operating system the PC is running on. I'd be interested in knowing the software used to access the website on the Windows XP
machine. Using the "Help" menu (perhaps near the top of the screen), if you choose "About...", or "About Internet Explorer..." it should tell you the
version. I'm going to assume that it's IE on your WinXP machine. Thx.

While a good question to post separately in the Q&A forum, it would be my assumption that on weekdays in GN you should be able to find a room
somewhere.

The tienda has been closed for a long time... the card is obtained by following the instructions posted by Doug (BajaNomad) in this thread above.
