I'm not sure about how to get the key to allow you to access the ramp but some one might chime in and tell you how they do it. I think you'll need to ask at the restaurant (Ken) for access.

No one knows why. that's what we heard last week. For sure they do NOT want business.

Why?? It's another scheme by "management" to squeeze more dinero from the home owners. Lock it up, and then charge a fee for a key or combination. I don't think they have much regard for the infrequent visitor, otherwise they would have restored the campground to it's former glory. Buy a lock, make some keys, and collect the fees.

OK. here's how some of us have come to terms with this inconvenient situation for those who would like to use the ramp. The access lot is privately owned and there was no consideration for an easement to the boat ramp when the federal zone permission was granted. So there could be blame pointed at whom ever plotted that section for lots. If you think about it why would the feds even get evolved back then? It's kind of a no brainier but it was just assumed there would be access for launching. Well some enterprising person saw an opportunity and purchased the lot. Most have expected a fee all along because someone is paying for repairs and improvements. So something happened that caused the property owner to change his policy. What caused this is in the rumor mill here and there are enough rumors to to choose from and more growing.
What is known is that the restaurant is not responsible. There have been meetings with the restaurant management and more in the works because he doesn't want his business effected by rumors. This is not the US of A and those making the most noise are not Mexicans. If you have been in Baja for any amount of time you have seen situations like this everywhere. They get ironed out. No use in pi$$ing the guy with all the marbles off any more than he already is. I don't know why many folks here have not learned that.
Well, That's my 10¢
