Cabo San Lucas to La Paz

Hello again. With such great information last time, I decided to have another go at it. Are there bus lines that travel from La Paz to Cabo? Prices and time would be good but website would be better. Gracias a todos

I have not been able to find any reviews online for Eco Baja Tours. I plan on trying them (SJD to La Paz) out in a little over a week from now.

As for bus lines, ABC and Aguila run quite often between Cabo and La Paz. It's tough to get a current bus schedule and times online. Much more reliable to walk into the station.

This is the website for ABC: http://www.abc.com.mx/

This is the website for Aguila: http://www.autotransportesaguila.com/

I hope this helps!

Take warm clothes and shoes and socks no matter how hot it is outside. The A/C is always on max... you could freeze in those busses.

No worries

Eco Baja Tours (for rich people) has many new busses, both van "Sprinter" size and larger busses with large windows. The cost is slightly higher, for example $450-500 for Cabo to La Paz. The busses have a movie and wifi with an internal system (almost all busses have movies and wifi except ABC from experience) est time of arrival 3 hours.

Other systems such as Aguila have busses which cost less, for examplle you may pay 170-340 pesos for the same trip which is also a nice bus but some routes stop more often. Movie and wifi est time of arrival 3.5-4 hours.

ABC is different I don't have experience with them, there are two bus stations one for Aguila and one for other systems such as ABC so go and ask for info or check online.

The busses go at about 1-3 hour intervals and they alternate either Pacific side or SOC side. Also you should buy the ticket in advance to be sure of seating, though I have never been turned away.

There are also other transport and interconnection busses to get to larger stops if needed. Choose the larger route time schedule and then coordinate locally to be sure you get to that stop well in advance.

FYI the main bus station in La Paz is on the malecon right next to 16th of September at the center of town. It is a very nice building with glass door and drop spot in front. Go there if you are in La Paz to ask for options but understand each of the 2-3 desks may offer different bus services so ask carefully and bring id and money to buy the ticket. The schedules are on the wall, be clear of your final destination point exactly as you haven't said if you are going to the airport of to downtown Cabo or where? There may be a transfer at San Jose to go all the way to Cabo downtown on aguila and I don't know if eco tour goes all the way there without a stop at the airport.

Ha ha! I am hardly rich (do rich people even take the bus?), but am willing to give Eco Baja Tours a shot. I have had a lot of friends ask me about their service, so I figured I would try it for myself on this trip.

Have taken the bus and have had no complaints about the buses. They were a lot cleaner, smelled nicer, and were a lot quieter than any Greyhound bus I have ever ridden in the US.

I'm hardly rich either, but I confess I've taken the Eco Baja Tours shuttle bus to and from the Los Cabos airport. Last December, from La Paz to the airport it was $400 pesos. On my return trip in January they had upped the price to $420 pesos. The bus only holds 6 or 7 passengers and tends to fill up quickly, so don't wait til the last minute to get your ticket.

If you are in La Paz, I would recommend that you purchase your ticket in advance at the station. We were delayed a good 20 minutes on departure because one passenger's online ticket didn't have the correct information for some reason (that just makes me leery of doing the online ticketing thing).

Coming from the airport back to La Paz, I waited til I got off the plane to buy my ticket because the driver had told me that if you buy your ticket ahead of time and then if your flight is late.....well, too bad - you've missed the bus and that's your tough luck. (I would think you might be able to talk your way onto a later bus if there is room, but the official line was "too bad".) Of course the down side to doing it this way is that the first bus I could have taken was full and I had to wait an hour for the next one. Oh well...I had a good book.

All in all, it's a good service. The busses are comfortable and clean (agree that there can be too much AC) and there are 1 or 2 stops along the way for passenger pick-up and restroom break.

All for Ecco Tours. Put my kids (not teenagers any more0 on them back from TS to SJD airport on a tight schedule and went fine. Comfortable, reliable and safe, not just for the rich. What is 20 bucks?

The grass is always greener....
and so, there is always a better spot in Baja
