Fishing frome shore in BOLA
I'm going to be in BOLA around the 11th of march and plan to take my surf rod. Can anyone recommend any good spots to fish and any tackle/bait
recommendations. Also interested in any spots along the way back to Ensenada.
I may stay on the gulf side and move back west farther North, No plans carved in stone as yet. It would be an added treat to return home with some
fish to show for the trip.

La Gringa... on the gravel beach facing Smith Island... When we were out there with Bedman and Emma, he tossed out a line and pulled in a few
easily... It was many years ago, but I think he was catching trigger fish?

La Gringa is a good recommendation and try to take the road further north if you can...triggers and groupers here and there. Last October I caught a
Porgy from shore there and it was FINE eating! Using a chrome kroc from what I remember (then again, I catch just about everything on a chrome Kroc.)
Corvina might be around as well. Bringing some squid never hurts (unless the bag opens up in your cooler.....bleeeeech!) Please report back what
you find!

near La Gringa. David K has them. Good read.

I always do a little shore fishing at La Gringa on our annual trips.
For a couple years I got triggers, and that was good,
Last year I caught literally dozens of puffers.....
Not good!
If you have a certified Japanese Puffer cleaner in camp I hear they are fine eating,
but if not, they can be quite lethal
At least that is what the gang said around the campfire when I proudly showed them my neat little full stringer....

I used to fish off the rocks at Barnegat Bay, N.J. and caught lots of blowfish. Cleaning them safely, while a must, was very simple and we ate tons
of these tasty morsels. Are the Japanese fish still fighting ww2? lol
