tourist visa mexicali west?
Over the past couple of years they have changed the lanes around at the West (Old) Mexicali border. Where and how do you go about getting a tourist
visa, or whatever the current language is at this location? How about the East border crossing?
We have permanent visas but have visitors coming who may want to get the tourist visas for a couple of weeks in San Felipe area.

On the left just after entering Mexico... search a recent post by John M who did a Satellite view of the INM office and parking... on the left! Search
others for details on Mexicali East. Just tell your friends to look for the office with INM on the door... in the building just inside Mexico.

It's easier at the east crossing after crossing go past the secondary lanes and turn into the large parking lot on the right the bank is in the far
laft corner and you just have to walk back to where you see secondary and go into the inm building to get your paperwork.No crossing traffic

Not if you only go to the border zone and stay only 72 hours or less.
It was always required if you go south of Maneadero (La Bufadora exit) or south of San Felipe. However, there no longer is a check station at
Maneadero for tourist cards... only at the border with Baja CA Sur, near Guerrero Negro. So, many visitors who only stay in the northern half of Baja
don't take the time, money or effort to get a FMM (Tourist Card)... even though it may be technically proper. There is no clear publication or federal
web page that clarifies where the border zone ends now, or the max. duration in the border zone. Officials have been quoted as saying you can stay up
to 7 days and go anywhere in the northern state without one.
