What Type of Skull Is This?
Raven, the mini lap Lab, found this skull on the beach about a mile north of Cabo Pulmo. It measures about 14" by 14" and is approximately 29" long.
The average human skull is about 6.5" wide and 8.5" long.
So, what sort of creature do you think this is, Nomads?

Some type of small whale. The bottom hole that looks like a "nose" in the bottom 2 photos is where the spinal cord attaches.

Key to IDing Whale skulls: ftp://ftp.fao.org/docrep/fao/009/t0725e/t0725e06.pdf
Note, this is a large file so it takes a while to load.
==================
Edit: added photo
It's likely a pygmy beaked whale (Mesoplodon peruvianus) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pygmy_beaked_whale

It looks to be the skull of a porpoise/dolphin.
The elephant seal should have the jaws of a land carnivore, with large canines. The bulbous nose is soft and would not be part of the skeletal system.

Sort of looks like Porky Pig's skull. He hasn't made any new cartoons lately....
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.
