You might be in luck, Jorge. My former wine source in CA has a closeout on a pretty good blanco tequila called..............EL AMO!! Perfect for a wedding, eh, with that name? 80 proof (many arent, these days), double distilled, 100% agave (but probably not 100% blue agave). Many blancos arent.

They originally sold this tequila for 22.99, but they are closing it out at 13.99. The website shows 16-750ml bottles left.

I'm with Hook. Find an inexpensive 100% agave blanco.

I was a Wine Exchange regular in the 90's when I lived in H.B. They have a strong history and reputation for quality and value.

2 kinds of marg drinkers. Those who know what a real marg tastes like, and those who don't.

Anyone thinking lime juice in a bottle, or sweet and sour mix added to any old tequila wouldn't know 100% agave tequila from, say, Cuervo Gold (added water and sugar).

Do a blind test with different tequilas with freshly squeezed lime juice -- eventually you'll make distinctions.

For serious tequila drinkers, it's a life style, not a frat party.

It's said the original Margarita was stirred. Is that the "real" you refer to, Lee?

A lot of bars and restaurants down here use cane alcohol to blend into the margarita mix. Half cheap tequila and half popskull is almost undetectable in a margarita and your guests will wobble around and toss compliments like hand grenades. "This here mahr-grrr-reeta shore is good. Gimme another". Keep 'em cold. Crushed ice works best to numb the brain, and the taste buds.

Caña.......yummy.
A well known brand that the unaware mistake for Tequila is "Viva Villa."
The same product [not brand] can be found on pharmacy shelves. It's been used as rubbing alcohol down here forever.
The stuff is a fast-track to the end for street drunks.

Any El Jimador tequila is muy bueno. If you want inexpensive go with Blanco, Repesado for about $17 per bottle does well mixing. But don't you dare use El Jimador Anejo as a mix, it is for sippin only.

Oh the horror!!!!!!!!!

OK, I'll admit it, I use on occasion, this Anejo in Margaritas.

I actually just bought one of these last month, and I agree somewhat with the reviewer it's a pretty good value.
