San Felipe best values?

Haven't been to San Felipe area for a while, and am curious as to what are thought to be some of the best values (and perhaps the best places, period) in San Felipe these days for restaurants, taco stands, accommodations, nightlife, daylife, etc.

Is there an influx of people right now on their Spring Breaks? I'm certain it isn't what it once was as a college spring break destination... but how busy is it in town right around now anyway?

Thank you!

Night life? There really isnt any :-) The Iguana Bar downtown may be for you if you are out sneaking around at night :-)

George's Motel
http://www.georges.com.mx/inicioin.html
Might be perfect for you. At the end of the malecon area, secured parking....decent dinner house...and there is a great coffee joint with wifi a block away.

Chuy's Place
Mar de Cortess/n, San Felipe, Mexico
Excellent breakfast and dinners. I eat here 80% of the time for breakfasts. No dress code. GREAT service.

El Nido Restaurant and Steak House
Avenida Mar de Cortez #348, San Felipe, Mexico
The pork chops are excellent and the filet mignon is great. No dress code

La Morena Restaurante & Bar
Av. Malecon 172 t-2, 21850 San Felipe, Baja California
Excellent stuffed breaded shrimp or get the sampler platter (too much food for one). Outdoor/indoor.... no dress code

Most Americans love the Taco Factory right there off the malecon.......it's so so Nice interior......decent drinks. Clean as hell.

All of the above is with in walking distance

If you are heading down by the sulfur mine area............
Chelo's Cae
Road to Puertecitos, KM 35
Ejido Delicias
The grilled shrimp plate is a wow factor.

well its obvious, question like this are very Subjective,

its all about perspective,

so there will never be a consensus,

I have camped, RVs. hotels. tents.

its all fun, some times age and experience can have a factor.

Hmmm... about 20 miles south, night life includes counting satellites, telling stories around the campfire, listening to the Sea of Cortez splashing against the sand as you drift off to sleep!

I'd forgotten to ask about Internet access as well.

I think if you are staying to the north of town there are a bunch of rentals at both El Dorado ranch and Playa De Oro (look at vrbo.com) If not there is always Baja Palms Motel.

Food and night life

Pete's Camp Bar/Rest

Parrot Crackers A new place, great fish and chips and shrimp and chips

Rumors

Jolly Mon (Friday Night Agave Blues, if you see a harp player it is probably me!)

Internet at Rumors and Pete's Camp

Not a lot of people here now that Easter Week is over. Hotel prices are all over the place from $25 to over $100, it is up to you.

There are free internet sites and a coffee house or 3 with internet and there are internet for sale places.

Most of the restaurants are pretty much reasonable with items from a couple of bucks for tacos to over $15 depending if you want shrimp with that.

Rumor has it a casino has opened in town last week, at the old pool hall, but I haven't been in town to see it yet.

Appreciating the replies. Thank you. I just recently realized how much time has passed since I last visited San Felipe and surrounding areas. Let's just say that time flies.

:wow:

You're gonna be amazed at the: Calimax store, Bodega, new auto parts store, couple 7-11's (one took over the Beach Comer) and dozen OXXO stores.

Has anyone been to the lighthouse ? We talked to a guy that was eating breakfast at Chumpos, he said he opened up the lighthouse and was serving dinner. He said he was from Oregon,I think ,and he brings fresh salmon down.
