I think Mexicans refer to their language as "Espańol".......Spanish.

Looks like "entubado" is not only a Mexican term of art, but a mostly NE Baja California term:

Note most of these rigs are in Mexicali. Never heard "entubado" down near La Paz; not enough dunes?

What I gathered from your link is the term means "tube frame" as I noticed the word "tubular" alone.
Maybe Ferna will see us fighting with this word and straighten us out.
I can't believe we don't have any real Mexicans on this board.

The man involved was driving a Barney Buggy. He was transported to a hospital in San Felipe and then up to Mexicali. It was reported by friends of his
that he was arrested after the incident and was under armed guard. Don't know this for sure as I am not there right now. Just see what his friends
have posted on another group. Luckily, everyone survived. It was first reported that there were fatalities. The accident happened in front of the
Pelicano Market.
Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!

Can someone clarify what a “Barney Buggy” is? I am imagining a Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble type of contraption with their feet providing the
power. JH

Of course it's Spanish. There is also a definite Mexican dialect that is different than proper Spanish, Puerto Rican Spanish, Costa Rican Spanish,
etc. The same words often have very different meanings, and each has their own set of slang. I'm sure you know this so I'm wondering why the snarky
remark. So, to be more clear, I was looking for a Mexican dialect-Spanish to English translator but was unable to find one.

A short wheelbase, VW powered dune buggy built by an American in the San Felipe region, that was named for the Flintstone's car... The late Baja Lou
used to fix them for his friends as Lou was a mechanic wizard.

And while there, take a look at picture 6, that's me and it was after I had the side tube cut out so I could get in and out easier. Well, when we go
to the desert every Friday for lunch, we make a lot of stops which involve a lot of in and outs.....
