Love or hate cilantro? Turns out it's genetic!

Today I read a fascinating article about cilantro and folks who absolutely hate it. Turns out that is due to a gene mutation which makes cilantro taste like soap to those with the mutation.

Interesting! 23andme is going some cool genetic research!

I think I like Cilantro, but a little goes a really long way. It's like Chorizo.....if I eat it, my memory can't get rid of the taste for about a year.

Cilantro tastes ok to me, but walnuts taste a little like soap, although I still like them. Maybe something to that genetic thing.

Funny
Many years ago when I smoked, I hated it, thought it tasted like soap. Since I quit, I absolutely love it.
That cant be genetic.
