Birders . . . Kindly help with ID
I've a favorite bird voice that rises up, not as bird but as jungle animal. A recurring blah blah blah blah with the swamp sound overlying. Maybe
immature is grayish light with head strips and body mottling. Spanish name sounds like Guitlacoche . . . or curved bill thrasher but voice is not the
same. Sage thrasher isn't the same voice. I hear them mountains to sea, and see them but have yet to get an image. Thanks!

Sounds (?) like a Canyon Wren, the biggest wren, all over Baja.
Song varies.
Play it on this website http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/cactus_wren/sounds

Bird
Guiltlacoche peninsular, Gray thrasher maybe. Decurved bill, yellow eye, brown/gray back, arrowheads on breast pointing down. Other possible from
sound description is Cactus wren. Decurved bill, lots of light and dark stripes and spots all over, distinct white eyebrow. Both a bit larger than the
oriole.
see http://bcsbirds.com look for pic in thumbnails and click it.

That's what I meant, Cactus Wren.
Canyon wren is one of my favorites, but Cactus is on my link.

Stop it! Stop this minute!!
You woke up my cat from a perfectly good afternoon snooze!
Now she's hollering at me and trying to get underneath my computer!!

That's it! The Cactus Wren. To me, sounds like a swamp dweller. Thanks!
