From San Quintin to Bahia Angeles
Hey guys whats the normal time travelling from San Quintin to Bahia de los Angeles?

When I drive it, it takes me 4 hours. I don't drive fast.

45-50 minutes to El Rosario (porque puesto de control), then 76 miles to Cataviña, an hour plus (?) to the turnoff, and then what 45 miles to the bay?
Gassing up in El Rosario? Some Nomads drive so gosh darnned fast on Mex 1, it seems they get there before they leave.

Hahahaha...that was a good one David. Maybe they think there on the I-5,but i think road conditions are not the same!!! So according to ur post, it
will take me forever to reach Bahia with my 50 mph, right??

A lot of old, rough pavement stretches to the Bahia turnoff, not much newer wide pavement, 50 mph is a good speed. The last 42 miles is good
pavement. 225 +/- total miles with some hilly stretches that will slow you down also. It takes me longer than four hours but I have to stop at
Chapala and let the dog burn off some energy on the playa.

I'll get a first-hand experience next week both going and coming. Taking the digital camera. Don't know what images to take though. At noon I swear a
person can look down in some potholes and see the moon and stars on the other side. Gonna be nice to not play driver this time. Downloaded the entire
"EE Doc Smith" series into my NOOK for the trip. 1920's science fiction.

Thank u for the detailed info, bkbend. It sounds like good road conditions in general. On the other hand David, i love to drive all the way instead of
being a passenger. And the clock runs faster too. Were planningto do a recon mission in late september or october. Do u know hows the weather in the
summer in Bahia??

I haven't verified the Accuweather temperatures shown for accuracy, other sites I've used when down there tend to not be too close on forecast temps
but trends of rising or falling temps are useful.
This site is pretty close for winds if you plan on being on the water.

Thanx for the follow up bk bend. We were planning to do a recon mission overthere, in the following weeks,but ill recomend we'd do it in October,
following ur advice.

The roughest is 60 mile section from Catavina to the L.A. Bay junction. It is approx 200 miles from San Quintin to Bahia de los Angeles. 4 hours would
be best conditions.
