| Toyota still heading downhill

Toyota has the dubious honor of having 3 cars on the Consumer Reports cars to avoid, #1 Scion iQ "this tiny car is super easy to park, and gets 34
mpg. But thats the only good news, It's slow and noisy, and has a buckboard ride" #4 Toyota Yaris " its 32 mpg gas mileage is good, but this sparten
hatchback subjects you to a noisy cabin uncomfortable seat and a jittery ride" #5 Toyota Tacoma " this workhorse has a punchy engine thats great for
hauling. But it feels dated and uncomfortable for everyday driving, with clumsy handling and rough ride". My sons 10 year old Corolla just got 2 more
recalls, we have spent over $5000 in repairs in 130,000 miles, no more Jap crap for me

My daughter's 10 yo Corolla has over 150k miles, no repairs needed other than normal maintenance. Gets 34 mpg, compare it with new models. All recalls
ignored. Don't fix if not broke, even if it's free.

My wife has an '08 Corolla, never a problem, gets 36 mpg highway and 26 mpg city. Over 75,000 miles on it.

I have a '10 Tacoma, never a problem, gets 18 mpg highway and 15 mpg city. Over 50,000 miles on it.

My previous two Tacomas both had over 100,000 miles in less than 5 years, and what few problems they had were not enough to consider changing brands.
In Baja, they are incredible 4WD trucks.

I spent over $5000 in engine repairs on my Mercedes 240D, all within 2 years back in the early '80's and it was meticulously maintained---------. My
next car, an Audi 5000 T, was a maintenance and repair nightmare. NO MORE GERMAN CRAP FOR ME

Bad stuff sometimes happens---------no matter who makes the vehicle. (but I have NEVER owned another German Veh. )

I now have had 3 "Jap vehicles" and I love them all and still have all 3. ('89 Isuzu Trooper, '97 Toyota Camry, 2007 Nissan X-terra)

 You just never know----------------.
