| 5.4 million in drugs seized at border

From The San Diego Union Tribune

 By Susan Shroder

"Border officers seized cocaine and methamphetamine with a total estimated street value of $5.4 million this week, federal officials said Wednesday.

The first seizure occurred about 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, said Angelica De Cima, spokeswoman for U.S. Customs and Border
Protection.

CBP officers found 161 wrapped packages of methamphetamine and two packages of cocaine in the doors, quarter panels, floor and air duct of a Mazda
Tribute driven by a 45-year-old Mexican citizen. She was arrested.

The drugs had a total value of $4.2 million, De Cima said.

About 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, CBP officers found 23 wrapped packages of cocaine in the gas tank of a commercial minivan at the San Ysidro border
crossing. The driver, a 25-year-old U.S. citizen, was taken into custody. He also had a loaded .22 caliber pistol and a magazine with eight rounds on
him, and a pocket knife, De Cima said.

The cocaine weighed 102 pounds and had a street value of $1.2 million."

Arrested? She should have been executed on the spot. Now she'll sue everybody involved.
