Can't wait until this is out...more than likely, it will not be long enough. I could just watch hours of the history of the racers. Especially when
PJ, Steve McQueen, James Gardner, Mickey Thompson and Walker Evans.

 Un-friggin-forgettable people!

Looks like "SCORE" and "Sal Fish" were not in Marty's script for this production...

Seems that the film is on the origins of the race that NORRA created in 1967, was stripped away from them in 1973, and in 1974 SCORE was invited in to
fix the mess the Baja Sports Committee created.

 NORRA Mexican 1000: 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972.
 BSC Baja Mil (1000): 1973.
(No 1000 run in 1974, as SCORE did not have enough time to prep.)
SCORE Baja 1000: 1975 to present.

NORRA also ran the Baja 500 from 1969-1973. BSC ran it once in 1974 (almost nobody came). BSC closed operations.

SCORE ran its first race in July of 1974 and called it the Baja Internacional (was a 400 mile race). It was a test event and Mickey Thompson (SCORE
founder) had great success with it.

With BSC out of business, SCORE moved the Internacional to June and after several years could rename it back to the original 'Baja 500' (a name NORRA
had rights to, like the 'Mexican 1000', and hoped to return to racing someday...)

| Thanks for link & memories

Ahh, Baja offroad memories. My family travelled to Ensenada to watch the start of these races on the Main Street. These races create a lot of good
will and comraderie on both sides of the border.

I learned to drive at age 12 in a "Meyers Manx" dune buggy, and my car in high school was a VW Baja bug. On weekends it was towed behind the family RV
for outings.

Thanks for posting! I look forward to the release.
