You didn't say Baja, and there have to be some compensations for not being able to be there...

I like this a lot in a town of 3500.

Jeans,
Trust me, I have learned the hard way. Trying to download the entire 2013 photo spread of the Thunder from Down Under just clogs the pipes.
Moderation.....

Internet speed off-grid Loreto

We recently switched from TelCel 3G (which hads dwnload speeds of around 1.5mbps with a cap of 2 gb/month) to a local guy who has set up a WAN in the Loreto area. We receive his wireless signal from about 8 km away with a small (15 cm) dish and send it through a standard router for whole house WiFi. He says he can get about 25 km range. He has no cap and here are the speeds we typically get.

BTW - $350 pesos/mo

I read some of these with interest... We are on Telmex phone/internet in Mulege... We stream our television from the states with a slingbox system with no problems. We also use a majicjack phone and can be on the computer or 2 at the same time with little slowdown... We watch TV wireless from the router in the house or on the patio.. We do cable the computer with the majicjack from the router.. We use the speed test site to check occasionally and for old folks reason I don't remember what we are getting down and up.. We are on the one meg Telmex plan but get almost 2 meg...
I hope when we return this fall that this is not the new normal for the internet as we like to watch NFL on sunday with all the friends... Maybe we got the luck of the draw for now...
Of course the telcel stick or hughes net etc are probably slower. We tried hughes net in the mtns of colorado with some degree of working but not as consistant as we wanted plus their FAP (fair access policy ) had me in toruble all the time..
