Telnor or Cablemas?
I'm not sure which one to get. I've heard that Cablemas is better, but takes a month to come out, but that Telnor will come out within a week.
I've already talked to a Cablemas rep, and have gotten all the information and prices for basic cable and internet. I sent him an email, but haven't
heard back from him yet.
My next door neighbor walked into a Telnor office on Wednesday, and they set up an appointment to come out this Tuesday. I haven't talked to a rep,
so don't know if they have cable, or how their prices are, though.

Basic phone with DSL will run in the neighborhood of 350 pesos per month.
Use Magic Jack for long distance and your bill won't vary much.

I didn't have any plans to get a phone through either of them, in fact, there's nothing in my post about getting a telephone.
I just want basic cable and internet. I'm getting an AT&T Go Phone to use, and am planning to get a Magic Jack (probably a MG Plus) at a later
date. Right now, I'm concentrating on getting a refrigerator, so that I can start moving all of my perishable food, and moving the rest of my stuff.

month, just dont plug in a phone.

I had Cablemas, and the internet service is very slow. I changed over to Telnor Infinitum, and it is great. Quote: | Originally posted by tjsue

That's more than I want to pay, it's almost as much as my Cox bill every month.

I would prefer to pay a little more, and get fast internet service. I think for about $300 pesos you can get internet through Telnor. Cablemas
internet es lo peor!!

Yeah...wadda you call that thingy? A "Dongle?"
Anyway....I think it costs less to get the phone line with DSL.
Sounds like a "no-brainer" to me.

I have a flyer that the rep gave me. For what I'm interested in (130 cable channels & 10.1mbps internet) is $505 pesos per month, which as of
today is $38.72USD.

Sounds OK if you incorporate a Magic jack for 20 bucks per year. Lots of TV, internet.... and a phone.

Right now I just need internet. If I can get it all at one time I will. It'll depend on whether or not anyone speaks English when I go to the office.
If Telnor will come out faster, I'll go with them and see how it goes. If they're ok, I'll stay with them, otherwise, I'll switch to Cablemas.
Right now I'm just trying to get moved.
