Camper Shell Definition for a Sentri Pass on Truck?
Anyone out there have a Sentri Pass on your truck which has a Callen Camper shell on it.
This info would help me decide if I need to remove it before inspection.
Thanks

You know, I never thought about it, but, I had a 2005 Chevy Avalanche and I was at a car wash and ran into a young gal who had the same truck as me,
but had a camper, we began to talk.

I told her I didn't know ther was a camper for an Avalanche. She asked if I liked it? I did. she sold it to me for $300 bucks.
I never once thought about my SENTRI pass. I was never asked about it and never once was asked to go to Secondary.
So, I would say you are OK

I have an F250 Super Duty that was inspected with the camper shell on it. Never had a question asked during the inspection or at the border.. Go
for it...

The Callen Camper shells require that the tailgate be removed so that is why I might think that they will say that it is a camper not a shell. I guess
I will just give it a try at inspection and see if it is allowed.

It's funny how we rant and rave about Mexico's lack of printed detail, such as immigration requirements, and we see the highly efficient US doing the
same thing.
Well....not really funny HaHa....just funny peculiar.

I have a Callen on my F350, a slide in with shelf doors to hide the wheel well compartments. I took those doors off for the inspection and it passed,
but the guy did caution me about bringing too much stuff back across. I told him I would use the ready lane when I had lots of stuff. I have only used
Sentri twice but both times they didn't even look in the back. You should have no problem.

In Fairness ..................
A precise definition of what would (or would not) be acceptable would be fairly difficult.
As explained to me regarding MY camper shell at the Sentri inspection, it can hinge on WHAT is inside as well as the external configuration.
Built-ins (which could hide innumerable objects AND people) would make an otherwise simple shell a problem.
It's much more expedient for them to simply have personal discretion at the actual inspection.
Along that line (discretion), when my truck was inspected, I watched as the agent inspected the previous 4WD Late-Model Chevy driven by a younger gal.
He looked at EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE.
When it came my turn, he verified the VIN.
Done.

They could start with trust. After all, it is a "trusted traveler" program.....is it not?

The shell is not an issue as long as the rear/ door of the shell is functional and free standing, just like the trunk of a car.

Trust is the key word, I just believe that we have to make it easy on them to trust us. Too many hiding places makes it hard on them, in my opinion.

Sentri with a Cabover?
I know when Sentri first came on the scene Cabover Campers were forbidden. I've heard that some rules have been relaxed on that issue. Does anybody
know if you can now get a Sentri with a Cabover Camper on the truck? Mine is a Lance 11' on a Dodge Diesel.
Why do Liberals insist and demand that achievers pay the way for nonachievers who are to lazy to succeed, or are just failures by their own choice?
Criminals prefer unarmed victims, dictators prefer unarmed subjects.
Why do ignorant people continue their blabbering when it only proves to others how stupid they are.

I'm in the same boat as brewer and would be interested to know if someone finds out. I've been calling the Sentri numbers for weeks and they just
ring.

yes,I have a callen camper and have had it on since 2001.
Sometimes I am questioned but not often. There was a problem with cab over campers but it was acceped that my camper did not pose a problem.
I have had sentri since it was first offered.
But keep in mind that I have been met with questions.
