We just arrived in Loreto yesterday. Took 2 days from San Diego, exiting at Otay and stopping for a few hours to have our truck nationalized. Road was fine all the way to Loreto. A detour for construction south of Vizcaino and the same two arroyos south of Mulege still being worked on from last year's floods. No problems anywhere. I know the road is also passable south of Loreto to Insurgentes with, I believe, a small detour at a bridge south of Puerto Escondido. I would say at this point, no worries.

By and large, the highway is in much better condition in BCS than up North. Been that way for years.

Drove SD to San Juanico via the south road, then on to Cabo after a few days. No problems at all. The roads were great. Lots of repairs at the washes but all easily passable.
Safe travels

Paved to almost Papa Fernandez' driveway and unpaved for the last 38 miles to Hwy. 1. Most consider it too rough for motorhomes or trailers. Semi tractors have begun using it to save time from driving through San Quintin/ Ensenada.

There will be a lot of traffic on this section for the Baja Mil in Nov. So take that into consideration.
