Crossing with multiple dogs
My first post- but probably not the only one as we are planning our move to La Paz in December.
Has anyone crossed the border recently with more than 2 dogs? We have 4 we will be taking along on this adventure in our motor home
Thanks

Welcome to BajaNomad.
I can't be specific with an answer, but it's good you asked. There have been discussions on this issue in the past and it became known that there is
a limit on the number of pets/dogs you can bring through on your way south. What that number is escapes me at the moment, but "three" is lingering in
my memory. Also...the enforcement of the regulation will vary, as all others do.
Do you have more that one vehicle...like a tow vehicle? if so, that may come in handy.

No problem!
Have regularly crossed with four dogs and a cat.
(Two are not even mine, just transporting for a friend who flys)
I believe that the Mexican regulations are two animals per visitor. (Can't remember where I saw this but was on one of the customs/import pages from
Aduana)
Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, we've thought about using both vehicles.
I've read somewhere that there is a fee for over 2. Wasn't much.
Just wish I could find the definitive answer.

Whippetmama, welcome to the Forum,
You may find the information you need here:

The page is available in English, if you need it...the link is at the top right

Thanks. That is exactly what I was looking for. Looks like the fee for more than 2 perros is about 142.00 usd. Doesn't say if that is per or flat.
But at least we'll be prepared.

We camped close to some folks from CO every year over Thanksgiving at Papa's that came down with ~14 dogs and left with ~15 dogs... every year.
No exaggeration.

I thought the limit (supposedly) was two per person.

We crossed at Tecate last Friday with three dogs.
No one gave us a second glance.
Up until last December, we regularly crossed with four
dogs and not once had a problem. Our beloved little callejero, Loreto, died at 17 years 2 months. He crossed by car and by plane more than 85 times!

From the offical site, more than 2 dogs or cats incurs the fee payable at the crossing. If we get waved through, great! But if not, then we know what
to expect.

And it very well be 2 dogs per person. If that's the case, then 2 passengers=4 dogs.

Are you sure? $142 USD is too much, more than 4x than one human.

1817.00 pesos. But they only say that is for over 3. They don't specify if that is per pet or just a flat fee.

Sorry. The site says the fee is for 3 or more, so I'm guessing that it is a flat fee.
