| Surfdoc Memorial

 Hey guys

October 23rd will be the one year anniversary of Stan's death. I still cannot believe my brotha is gone. I spent some hours last night going through
old posts and such thinking about him...what he brought into my life ...and how much I miss him.

Shari and I talked a year ago about a memorial for his grave. Memorials are really big in Baja. ALL of the other graves in his Panteon have massive
memorials with personal stuff...photos.....family memorabilia...etc in them.

We are thinking something more simple. maybe a headstone...a rock wall and a couple of simple benches where we can sit and have a Tecate with him.

Our budget is $1000.00. we need help. Whatever you can spare....whatever you can do......I just want him to have something marking his grave.

Shari will send some pics. If I can do it...I will make the trip down to Asuncion to celebrate the day.

 Please help if you can.

Stan liked to brag about the size of the last yellowtail he caught:

He also liked to care for folks.... Thanks, Stan

Neither of those pics could possibly be Stan.

There isn't a Tecate in sight!

Gracias rdrrm for helping make Stan's resting place nice.

that's hilarious Ged....Oh man, I laughed till I cried! Stanibuns looked fine in that first pic eh! trim & fit

So party planning mode has kicked in for the Surfdoc Memorial Fiesta to hopefully inaugurate his spruced up digs. We will be celebrating Stan's life
starting Oct.23rd with beer, music & seafood of course....a fishing day and gathering to remember our bud Stan.....who's in?

Maybe as a footstone....a buried outboard motor with the powerhead above the surface

 Stan would like that.

Lemme see if I can figure out this PayPal thing. Right now it just takes me to livemail without a link to PayPal.

I thought he was, but personal sites are usually allowed in these rural venues, like the cribs around baby's graves and such.
I used to haunt with my cameras the Panteones outside Ensenada, and the most notable inclusion at a gravesite, other than the cribs, was the piles of
rocks placed on top to discourage the critters from digging for the remains.
Not everyone was/is buried in a box.

Yes he is. The first Gringo to be buried there. I'll try to find some pics of his funeral. He doesn't have a proper memorial. Just a simple cross.

As long as Stan doesn't upstage his new neighbors, "proper" being the operative word, it would be nice.
