La Paz to Loreto
First timers traveling between la Paz and Loreto. How long will this take and is there anywhere to stay in between to break up the trip

It's about a seven hour drive. The only place to stay is Ciudad Constitucón, which is about 3+ hours south of Loreto.
If you leave La Paz by 6 a.m., you should be in Loreto by lunch.

Constitucion.

An interesting stop along the way is Las Pocitas, about 70 miles north from La Paz...

Everybody's answers are pretty much right-on, La Paz to Loreto direct.
David K's suggestion of the artisan shop in Las Pocitas is a good'un. Fascinating place to poke around. Be sure to buy something, even just a cool
drink.
If you want to get off the highway for a slightly-out-of-the-way detour continue north through Insurgentes and go over to the coast to the town of
Lopez Mateos. It's a beautiful coastal town. Plenty of motels to stay the night and head out to Loreto after breakfast the next morning. If you visit
in winter, late Dec-early April, you may have the opportunity to go out to see the whales.
David K, can you whip up a map of the Insurgentes-Lopez Mateo area, please?

not to be redundant.. ok I will be anyway...
We usually stay at Casa Buena 2 or 3 times each winter and are really comfortable and secure there... Pretty good proximity to everything we want to
do while in LaPaz.
Maybe we are nuts but we usually drive from Mulege to Lapaz in 5 12 to 6 hours... snack on the way no lunch or bkfst breaks.. no stops to get
speeding tickets etc..
This year maybe different due to the storm damage on the highway..
enjoy....

Made the drive today, left Loreto about 9AM and in La Paz by 1:30 and we kept to 60-62.5 Mph all the way, made one fill up stop at the Pemex just
before entering LP. Constitution is near 90mi south of Loreto with pretty smooth sailing and except for a road rebuild south of Constitution the rest
was slick too.
