Beer SOB?
Can anyone tell me how much beer you can take across the border into Mexico? Thanks!

(Mexico doesn't check for beer, but I am sure there is a published limit to alcohol going in...)

A few months ago we were checked for beer going south into Mexicali. There were 2 of us and we had a 24 pack case of Pacificos. We were allowed to
enter without problem. I know this doesn't answer your question. I'd like to know the real answer too. We wondered if the outcome would have been
different if the beer had not been Mexican.

Officially it is 1lt. I have never been asked about any booze however. I will take cases and plenty of wine on most trips. Yes, I am a beer snob.

we had a ton of gear crossing at san luis a couple months ago and the only question was how much beer? i had a 30 pack of TKT and they let us go.

#11. Passengers over 18 years of age, may introduce a maximum of up to 20 packs of cigarettes, 25 cigars or 200 grams of tobacco and up to
three liters of alcoholic beverages, and six liters of wine; in excess of the above, cannot be imported without complying with applicable
regulations and restrictions.
I have found subjectivity on alcohol for the rare occasions when I have been red lighted at TJ in both the old crossing and the new Chaparral xing.
Wine and hard liquor seem to get a heightened screening vs. beer.

we got hauled into secondary with a half dozen 30 packs. after pow wowing around a computer screen for 20 minutes they couldnt figure what to charge
us and sent us on our way. we figured they were holding out for an invite!

Same thing happened to us... I have a buddy that is a die hard Coors Light fan and likes to bring it to Baja. We got pulled into secondary and they
were confused over what to do. It was only 3-4 30 packs. After a while, they gave up and just let us go with it. To me, it just doesn't feel right
drinking non-Mexican beer in Baja! Gotta have my Pacifico!

Indio? Are you actually getting any kind of buzz on that? It is common on tap over here and I always get too full on Indio before I get any buzz from
it. It's also pretty light-bodied for a "dark" beer.
Just bought a new TKT I have never seen. TKT Titanium. 5.5% ABV. Havent tried it yet. If Bud has a Platinum, I guess TKT needed a Titanium.
Another new one I found is the Bohemia Weizen, supposedly Mexico's first wheat beer. It's an ale very similar to Blue Moon with the notes of coriander
and orange. I like it as a change from the other conventional Mexican beers. Unfortunately, it is a seasonal beer for the summer and I cant find any
right now. Hope they bring it back next year. Believe this was the first year for it.

I know coriander and cilantro are supposed to be the same (and maybe they are) but the flavor of dried coriander is certainly way different than fresh
or dried cilantro to my taste buds. Coriander as a spice is usually coriander seeds which seems to be part of the taste I get from Blue Moon and this
Bohemia Weizen. It's nothing like cilantro to me.

I've been reading some interesting things about cilantro. The reason some people really HATE it is that it is a food to which some people are actually
allergic. There is something physiological in some people to make cilantro actually taste like something unfit to eat.
For its flavor value in a beer, there must be a trade-off economically.
