I can't think of anywhere in the hotel that has counters like that? Where was this?

I do know that if we go in the restaurant at off hours, we have needed to let them know we are there---never a real problem, as we either peak through the window in the door to the kitchen or let them know at the front desk. We have found the food to be just fine and we really love the atmosphere.

Tonight I just booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for the Baja Mil. They took my CC number to hold the rooms. I was quoted 57.00 per night per room. From the USA I called this number to make reservations. 011526161659008, I was told that they would not charge my card and to please make cancellations 48 hours prior to arrival or they would charge me for 1/2 of 1 nights stay per room.

That is correct... I only asked because the Half Way Inn started to get some mention.

There's a Pink motel just North of the larger Catavina Hotel on the opposite side of highway.

Has anyone stayed there?

IMO, the beds at the Catavina Hotel are rock-hard. No thanks!

The pink motel is a hotel familiar.
No hot water, electricity til 10 pm . . . take your flashlight.
No electricity in the morning, either.

In expensive and very basic.
Once was enough for me - traveling alone.

We have stayed there a few times ---- had OK experience, and one terrible experience.

It is old and the beds are so, so, no heat or air conditioning.

Because it is cheap, we would stay there again, and we have stayed at worse, but the memories of our terrible experience just stops us from doing so.

They used to have a small restaurant and if it is back, I don't suggest you eat there.

I've stayed at the pink hotel a few times. After my brother saw they were not changing the sheets after someone stayed we used our sleeping bags on the beds.

We have rented places where they seemed to think it was OK to not change the sheets if the previous person was there only one night ---:barf:

Sleeping bags? Check! We travel with our own pillows, too. :bounce:

Baja Run,
It appears that the San Quintin hotel charges $56 (as per the website you have listed)....and Catavina is the more expensive of the two.

So....which hotel has your reservation? Catavina or San Quintin ?

Don't believe everything you think....

Jed, thanks for asking that question!! I just called them and my reservation was for San Quintin...Just changed it to Catavina. Thanks again. I would have been in big trouble come race day and no rooms in Catavina now it's 90.39 per room per night.. the updated contact number for Catavina is 011522001249123. Wheww that was close
