I am looking for info on the best place to go and watch the Whales in Guerrero Negro and also when is the best time to watch the Whales?
I am trying to get together a caravan and this info will give me a place to go and a time frame to work with.

Contact Shari, a fellow Nomad. She sets up complete tours in GN and also guides. Have been out several times with her and nothing but outstanding experiences!!! Last year took a group of 16 from Ensenada and had an excellent time

In my opinion, the best times are February and March.

Ditto what bajaguy said, Shari's the BEST. She's been involved with the whales at Ojo de Liebre for over 3 decades and really knows her stuff.

Hey, don't be talkin' stink about Lopez! Only when they cook the parts left uncanned, grind it, cook it and make

incredible fertilizer from it . . . you may actually appreciate it when you take the plant tour.

We are very excited about the 2014 season as both my daughter Sirena & I will be guiding at the lagoon. We will have a camp at the lagoon as well so drop by our palapa to visit where we will have a little display of whale stuff and you can hang out and talk whale stories round the campfire.
I will be starting a new thread about our plans for the upcoming season. We have many booking already and some trips are full so if you have an idea of the dates you want please reserve them early.

If you are campers, there is a very nice campground at the launch site. The road to the launch site is about 24 miles (?) from Mex. 1 - turnoff with a big sign, about 5 miles past Guerrero Guerrero. A 9 mile stretch was newly paved last year, but the remainder is always graded and no problem for regular passenger cars. Maybe they'll complete more paement for this year. There is also a small cafe with fish tacos, coffee, quesadillas; showers, toilets there as well. Sign up for the one of the first boats going out in the morning. If it's cloudy and windy, don't go that morning. Go in February or early March. A fantastic experience.

the restaurant is 5 star at the lagoon...hands down THE best seafood I have EVER had in all of baja. The chef is outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful bordering on elegant and enjoying fresh scallops, pulpo, fish, shrimp, cold beer watching whales frolic in front of you is world class. It makes camping alot more attractive when you dont have to cook!

Camping is magical at the lagoon....stunning sunrises and sunsets and nice palapas that even have electricity for charging cameras etc. We will have some extra tents and sleeping bags in case you want to spend a night with us.

Here is Sirenita lovin on one of her amigas!
