Two questions about Ensenada
I've been down to the Ensenada area 3 times in the last couple of months gathering info as to where I'm going to lease a spot in the near future.
I've gone between Rosarito, La Mision area and Ensenada and Ensenada seems to be what I'm looking for. My questions are:
1. Does anyone have any kind of quesstimation on when that dirt section of road out to Punta Banda will be complete? I know its Mexico so just an
opinion will be great.
2. Is there a Gym in Ensenada that's better than the rest? Maybe a scaled down version of 24 hour fitness? I'm old but still trying to work
out.
As usual thanks for any input.

First of the year...that's 2014, on the road.
There's a fairly new gym in Macroplaza, that's WalMart Plaza on Hwy 1, south end of Ensenada. It's on the back side of McDonalds.

Hotel Coral and Marina has a gorgeous spa and gym for about $40 American per month. Nice crowd of sailors and boat owners. Quote: | Originally posted by greengoes

Thanks Dennis and greengoes, Man, that's great news about that road, I really like it out there. I just put new struts on my Pathfinder when I got
back this time. I think going up and down that road several times help finish the old ones off.

They've been widening the road in sections. First section, a couple of miles from the "Y" has been done for a while, and they're doing the second
three miles now.
Eventually it's going all the way to The Buf, but at one point, the turn-off over to Kennedy Cove etc, they haven't made their intentions clear as
yet on whether they will be widening the existing road past that point, or turning inland and going over the hill.
My hopes are for the latter. The project wouldn't be happening in front of my house.
Widening the existing road past my place would actually involve building bridges to span the gullies on the only side wide enough to work on. I
don't think they'll take on that task if there's a viable, alternative path.
We'll see.
Speaking of wide....what happened here??

Dennis......
What is the plan, if you know, about pushing the new road from where it ends by Junior's through Cantu???....where would they put the detours??
Saw a few guys last year doing surveys in your area by the curves. Couldn't they use culverts and fill instead of bridges by your place????....same
with the detours.....where???

The only thing new is the annual crop of weeds...........don't think anything else is new.

Detour could go uphill into Col Puerto Escondido. That will really torque those "cloud crowd" snobs.
Here is the current construction zone of La Buf road...

Yes, Tiger's golf course, "Campo Elin", is on pace to open right after the "Pellagio" resort in the wine valley.
Dennis, the wide format of this thread is due to some idiot breaking the photo format rules. CHEERS.

I guess they can just cut the hill back. the other direction will put them in the drink.

There are some huge gullies going back from the road, and judging from the width and depth, the carry a lot of water when it rains.
The other side of the road at these points is sheer, straight down.
Jeeeeezo....I have no idea what they have in mind, although a new road starting at the dump road, going over the hill has been discussed.
It's just another big "quien sabe", Terry.
Hey....I thought you were on your way south??
