baja 1000 ensenada

i am picking up cruise ship passengers and i need to be in ensenada on nov 16 at about 7am.

will lazaro Card##as be open in front of the cultural center or will it be closed with race festivities?

if it is closed, will i be able to come in to town from reforma on lopez mateo and get to the hotel mision santa isabel on castillo?

i will need to do this in the afternoon as well, will i still be able to use lopez mateo at that time of day?

bajadock gave me perfect information regarding the entrance to the cruise port, but i think i need to move on to plan b because of the race.

the cruise line emailed their passengers and advised them that the ship would dock at 6am so the passengers could enjoy the 1000.:o

thanks for any information you have from attending previous years

You might get a quicker reply and more accurate information if you pose this question on race-dezert.com, if you haven't done that already.

If they use the same start/finish as they did at the 500 this year, the normal northbound lanes on Lazaro Card##as will be blocked off for the racers as they come in to finish. The normal southbound lanes will be split in half to allow local traffic to go both north and south. Traffic (and parking for that matter) is going to be pretty bad all day on the 16th....no way around it.

The racers have 36 hours to finish. The car/trucks start at 9am on the 15th leaving every 30 seconds. So the last car should leave by 11am at the latest depending on how many which means the cut off is 11pm on Saturday the 16th. Yes the awards is on Sunday the 17th.
