back pain
I know this is not to do with baja for which I apologize,but also know some here are older like me and may be able to provide insight. I have had 6
back surgeries over the years and wake in severe pain and am contemplating buying a sleep number bed.Does anyone own 1 and does it help-thank you and
have a blessed day.

We have two. One in the states (an older model) and one here in Baja. Highly recommended!!! Would not do without one. Really is a pain (no pun
intended) when we travel to sleep on motel beds.
We have a pillowtop model, think now you can get a memory foam topped model. Prices are comparable with most name brand sizes......we just use the
mattress as we have platform/storage beds

We have slept on a 'sleep number' (Select Comfort) bed for many, many years and absolutely love it. It has never failed us. My son has one too, and
loves it. At 75, I often go to bed with back-pain after a hard days work around the house, and I ALWAYS wake up in the morning refreshed and with no
pain. I have had a herniated disc for about 12 years, but no operations yet.
I highly recommend them, and no, I do not own stock in the Company.

Barry........at 75 you shouldn't be working that hard around the house. That is what kids are for!!!

Good observation!!! I can reel them in on the Big projects, but it's the
little one's that do me in (temporarily). Closest "kid" is 90 miles away in Chico.

Wow thx 4 all the input you all have helped greatly. Sadly I see another posting saying this post is inappropriate for this site for which I will once
again apologize and end with-did any1 see the water spout off Cabo recently it made me think hmmm is a sleep number bed good.Thx and have a great

You tell what you need and it related to Baja.
And don't let the Nomad message board "Sheriffs" get to you. Your post was quite calm as compared to others.

I've only had one back surgery and chronic pain since. Now, on my RV, I have a 3" gel memory pad on the bed. Very comfortable, but nothing beats my
Sleep Number (25) bed which is in storage in Minnesota. Next to that, I love the topper for comfort.

Have gone through a few ... ended up on a Tempurpedic ... like their "pillows" too .. best of luck  in baja

When I see a forum member flash me their HALL MONITOR badge, I'll stop running...
Meanwhile, here are some personal comments about what plagues me...
Disc herniation pain. Bad enough.
Disc herniation pain that causes adjacent muscles to tense up and possibly spasm: MUCH WORSE pain.
When things get really bad I'll spread DMSO over the area. This stuff relaxes the muscles and gets me through the rough spots. I have been using DMSO
for various muscle strains and arthritis for 25 years. I've not grown a third eye yet. This stuff really helps with herniation flare ups. There is a
veterinarian supply store just west of San jose del Cabo on the south side of the highway that sells jars of DMSO gel. An extremely kind Nomad forum
member stood on their head getting me a jar of DMSO gel a few years ago from a long way away. The effort saved me a tremendous amount of pain. I will
remain forever thankful.
As far as someone objecting to a poster pleading for help to avoid being in pain in Baja California, I have a friendly word of opinion about that: GO
AWAY! No one needs to suffer pain in paradise.

I was somewhat nervous to read the replies b/c I felt I had no right to post this here but wow if you all have helped-even commenting about how your

DMSO gel is available at our vet here in Loreto, in case anyone is interested.
As it is used as a liniment for livestock and horses, it's probably available at most vets.

There used to be a big Clinic in Nuevo Laredo that administered DMSO intravenously to patients for Back Pain and Arthritis.
And the interesting thing was my U.S. insurance paid for it
