Plant Identification
I always thought this was a purple "cup of gold" vine.
But now this plant is making this fruit or seed pod.
The one I've had for years in San Nicolas has never made these pods.
This plant making the pods is in Lopez.
Curious.

Nice color . . .

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

I think it is from the Mediterranean area.....Greece.
That "cup of gold" is poisonous ....the flowers. That pod......Mmmmmm?

You have a Mandevilla vine (Apocynaceae family.) There are almost 100 species and many many cultivars in a rainbow of colors.

The picture in the OP is not Mandevilla vine. It is not a purple form of "Cup of Gold" vine which is Solandra sp. The plant in the picture is
Allamanda sp. probably Allamanda blanchetii, common name Purple Allamanda or Purple Trumpet vine, a native of Brazil.
Enjoy your beautiful plant.

That is a beauty!
Very nice.
We have two collections of Copa de Oro we're training to create an arbor over our entry and carport and backyard outdoor shower area.
Love these beauties, no matter the color. So lush!
