Stories abound concerning abhorrent behavior on the streets during Gay parade activities in Hillcrest, as well as other gay enclaves. I don't have to be an eyewitness to be aware of it. Outrageous behavior makes the news when it affects other citizens and they let it be known.

I didn't go to the moon either, but I know someone did.

Against the law? That's funny. Law turns a blind eye during these bacchanals because the city mayor is usually out in the street dancing with someone's pool boy....just for the solidarity photo op and the gay vote...of course.

I'm comfortable in my hole. If you had your way, a lot of other people would be comfortable in there as well.

My hole is a warm, private place.......and that's the way it's gonna stay.

"Actress Judy Garland is widely considered a gay icon; The Advocate has called Garland "The Elvis of homosexuals."[1] The reasons frequently given for her standing as an icon among gay men are admiration of her ability as a performer, the way her personal struggles seemed to mirror those of gay men in America during the height of her fame, and her value as a camp figure.[2] Garland's role as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz is particularly noted for contributing to this status."

Just your opinion, of course, and not much more. I don't see Dennis's position as being radical, or in any kind of "hole" at all. He basically reflects my position, and I have no problem finding adaquate "oxygen".

You lefty folks are soooooo intolerant!!!! judgemental!!!! and narrow-minded, it seems to me, when evaluating folks that don't agree with you.

Barry,
The "hole" I am referring to is the "foxhole" Dennis offered as part of his position in an earlier post....

And for me, this is not about left or right as much as about compassion for others. Too bad that for some folks, thinking is simplistically reduced and categorized politically in a us-them/ right-left / right-wrong framework.

"Each to their own" may be considered "lefty", or, as others have expressed....as being tolerant.

Enough said on my part. this topic is "getting old". I have expressed my position as best I can....some have reflected similar thinking....and others the polar opposite. Such is life.

I am not saying that my position is correct....it is just my opinion....and one which is just as relevant as yours, Dennis's, or anyone else's.

Glad you have enough oxygen....we can both breathe easily....and that is what counts.

Thanks Barry....thought I was alone here.
Anyway....I was getting tired of responding to the posts that really made no point other than saying, over and over, I was anti-gay without being able to point out anything in my posts that might indicate that.
I am, and admit to be, anti- extraneous gay behavior in public. Displays of sexuality of all types should be kept off of main street. Those streets belong to the kids too, and I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing my kids at a gay pride parade when the premise of their existence is sexuality....sometimes bizarre.

He claims to watch men in crotchless chaps prancing around swapping blowjobs?

This Dennis person is one conflicted dude; I'm starting to feel sorry for him.

Kind of like all those stories about crime in Mexico, huh? Somebody said...well this one time...I heard...yep, must be true and happening on every street corner all the time!

Dennis,

I took my 11 and 14 year old kids to gay pride parade in Hillcrest this year. We had a great time and didn't see ay BJ's in the street.

I think it was definitely a "teaching moment", and I believe both kids are better because of the experience.

We should change the name of this thread to "Tolerance in Punta Banda??"

:LOL::lol::lol::lol:

I think what we have here is the difference in what a kid is taught in 1940's vs. what a kid is taught in 2013.

They're not "fairies, fruits, and pool boys". They are human beings. They are someone's kids. A different roll of the dice and you could've been gay. Would your currently configured "straight" self be talking crap on the gay Dennis?

You're smart enough to know that your words here are doing nothing other than hurting the gays and lesbians on this board.

I'm heading south in about 20 minutes. I should be at the turnoff in Maneadero in about 3 hours. Wanna meet me for a beer at Canadas? JK, too early for beer...................

My folks would take me to Barnum and Bailey Circuses when I was a kid. From then on, I had fantasies about being like Clyde Beatty. Point is....how would you know what it taught your very impressionable kids?

Your kids most likely learned a lot that day, but you didn't teach it to them. They absorb what they learn from their environment.
Besides....how could possibly begin to teach your kids something of which you claim to know nothing about?

In closing out that point.....I couldn't care less what your kids learn, think or do, but don't think they weren't affected past the point of confusion by their day at the parade.

Let's not disparage one of the major food groups for the sake of making a pointless point.

OK....once again, I reiterate my only point: gay doesn't bother me. Not in the least.
Blatant public displays of alternative life-style sexual behavior do...and if you try to sell the point that a pride parade doesn't most freely exhibit these qualities of behavior, your deluding yourself, and your kids.

Quote:

Bullsheit. Pure, unadulterated Bullsheit.
Gays, of all people, should be appreciative of anyone who outwardly voices his/her own opinion...mine being civil and tolerant to any and all responsible and reasonable communities within our culture.
Their interpretation is welcome here by me.......whatever it may be.

Yeah....kinda temprano for that, Jon. Gimme a rain-check, if you will.
Nice chatting with you at any rate.

For a while, I thought Dennis was reserving his vitriolic disgruntlement for my counterpoints, but I see he treats everyone who offers a differing opinion the same way :O .

While it is a bit of a relief, I realize that I am in good company with other thoughtful people.
