Photobucket files problem - SOLVED

I've discovered a problem with my Photobucket albums concerning posting photos on Bajanomads.

I was recently reviewing a couple of older posts I made...each with many photos on them. I noticed that a large percentage of those photos have now been replaced with this image:

(Thankfully, I have not seen the same problem with Imageshack!)

While this may have been operator error, I really don't know quite what has happened?...and was wondering if any other Nomads have encountered this deletion of photos using Photobucket?

Hoo Boy! Now I've got another Photobucket question.

How do you turn off the obnoxious music that starts playing on Photobucket?

I hope nobody else makes this mistake!

Yes, that's certainly one way, Dennis. Meanwhile I'll keep looking for the mute or delete function on the site.

And now some sad news..at least for me. I've found the reason for my multiple photo deletions.

I had read somewhere that to locate a particular photo in your Photobucket account that you should create separate albums to categorize your file of photos...such as Beaches, Road Trips, Fishing, Cafes, etc, etc. So I did...transferred a whole lot of photos from my main bucket to certain labeled albums. My mistake....I should have read the site's new format (but who does that?)

This is what Photobucket Support/Help says about that:

Remember: If you delete a photo from your account, change its filename, change its location in your account, or change the name or location of its album or any parent albums, the link will break!

And break they did.

Ouch! How much can I swear on BajaNomads?

Notice: Job offered to anyone who can reinstate a bazillion photos on Nomads? Well, 3,500 anyway...

Don't move them just re-upload from your PC to you new Photobucket albums.

Thanks for the advice, but maybe you misunderstood my plight, David. I'm referring to my old photo threads that I wished to add new photos onto.

As in Mulege Mirror and Baja Walkabouts with Camera. Those previously posted photos are now deleted...or I should say, a goodly amount of them are now deleted.

For sure I will be transferring any new photos I take into certain albums on Photobucket.

As for the ones already deleted....Hmmm....could be a whole new winter project?

You're screwed. Sorry but I thought I'd organize my folders too and if you move or delete one photo in an album all the numbers change to accommodate the blank and you've more or less done the blue screen of death to your album. Well, the new albums look good but where ever you've shared photos they will now give you that message. I did that once too and ..... well you know.... now
SORRY
Maybe there is a fix but I never found one:no:

Thanks Russ, there's some small consolation that I am not the only one to have goofed.

We are having a good laugh over it right now..

...and some are happy that their images are gone!

I am now engaged in taking certain computer safety measures...

Thanks, Dennis...but I am already familiar with Carbonite backup for your computer. Had that for a few years.

But, like DavidK, you missed the point of losing my photo lineup on Photobucket. Carbonite backup does indeed help with my personal computer docs, photo files, etc... but cannot help with a Photobucket account.

But gracias for the support! And so....Oh well, what the hey, anyway. I have now got myself a better keep-busy 'project'.

p.s. My apologies to any who might chance to view my old photo posts and see the DELETED notice. I'll be busier than a one-armed farmer at milking time to correct this error.
