Gonzaga snorkeling

Sorry if this is an old question- heading down to Gonzaga thanksgiving with kayaks- is there any good snorkeling accessible from shore or kayak?
Also I know shore fishing is fine without a license - but what about fishing from a kayak?
Thanks

There are a few islands about 8 miles north of Gonzaga. The snorkeling is very good there. It can be ok on the sea side of Willard, but not as good as the islands. Not sure about the fishing license.

If the Navy is there to catch you, you would need a Lic for fishing from a craft but not the shore

Papas point is good or pick a rocky point inside if the wind is blowing. Try it on an incoming tide just before high to get the better visablity

Adding a bit to my previous post, San Luis Island is about 8 miles north of Gonzaga. It's about 3 miles east of Punta Bufeo. There is a pumice and stone beach on the east side. Visibility is very good. Not sure what range you have in a sea kayak. The fishing near the island is also very good (sierra, yellow tail...).

Get the fishing license, If don't you are poaching.
