G N Breakin
At the Cowboy Hotel people said they had their car broken into and they took everything they could get . Said they were pro's at it. They even tried
to get the battery but the cables were to hard to get off. 
We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

"People said"... I guess hotel guests, but are they people you know or how did you hear of the story Bajame? Were "they" vacationing cops and that's
how they knew it was a professional job? Was the car inside the hotel's courtyard in front of a room?
Bummer for sure... Local police reactive?

that sucks...the night watchmen there used to be the chief of police here in Asuncion...I'll get the scoop. Pretty strange if it was inside the
compound.

We're driving south on Friday, likely to spend the night in GN, so this is interesting
to us. Maybe w eshould shoot for Cataviņa or San Ignacio...

I just spoke to the owner of Cowboy and believe me he is upset about the break in. His reply was that these things can happen especially with the
increase of meth use...but in 4 years, it was the first robbery there.
Rest assured the night watchman will be more alert from now on. Sometimes they make coffee in the office which is at the front of the building giving
someone a chance on the inside.
He also mentioned that the new entrance will be gated and the watchman will be in the little cubicle right there so he can see anyone coming in and
the inside parking lot... so he said to tell you all that the place will be very secure.

Thievery can happen at the Carocol or Cowboy, again, and for thief's who work quietly, it's not a problem.
Once locked my car keys in a rental on Oahu, Seaworld parking lot, someplace like that, large tourist parking lot, called AAA, hour later I'm still
waiting, 1/2 dozen teen age boys walking nearby, told them I'd pay them if they could get into my car. One kid pulled out a slim jim, looked
around, then popped the lock. About 2-3 seconds.
My car has a blue LED flashing when my alarm is armed. It lights up the entire car. THough the hood isn't armed, 4 doors and a hatch door is.
This isn't a fancy alarm and though it's connected to the car's battery, the alarm siren cannot be accessed. At the Cowboy, the siren would be about
30' from my room.
Think about a car alarm. The car broken into could not have had one. These weren't Pros.

Our dog is usually with us when we drive. We stayed at Caracol last time through, and while it is good that they allow dogs, I think they have only
one dog room. It was pretty much like sleeping in a kennel, the smell was really strong. Cowboy is better with a dog.

Stayed at the Cowboy last August.
Not worth the money, pretty spartan and bleak.

Our little Maggie Mae who we miss so very much would have barked and done her best to scare off the bad guys.
But our Tommy Dog would just wag his tail, and hand over the keys! Watch dog is just not in his job description.
It is one of those situational dog things.
