not a good idea

the Conception Penninsula is empty...no one there...EMPTY...
there is no support unless you set it up in advance

if no one is there its safe

very few go there unless they take a boat

David K talked about what?? I always go where my Tacoma takes me, which is everywhere!
I have not been over there so I would not make any suggestion but never to abandon your vehicle there.

There's a spring at San Ignacito (could be San Ignacio), along with what remains of an old American woman's homesite, about mid-way up the peninsula at Conception Bay, on a hillside overlooking the bay. I didn't notice San Ignacito on any of the maps posted here, but seem to recall it's on my Baja Almanac, which is up at my home (I'm visiting family in California at the moment). That's a real nice camp spot and I seem to remember someone said the American lady is buried somewhere there where she lived--always good when camping with superstitious people.

I know there's another water source further up, where someone is raising cattle, but don't recall the name of the place.

There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

Sounds like you came across Baja Patty's Rancho Margarita.

She was a Treasure Baja Legend - Baja Patty

Remembering her.....

Many of you know the legend of Baja Patty, who lived on the Conception Bay peninsula at her Rcho Margarita. She was a real Baja gal who loved horses, horsemen, tequila, the rugged outdoors, life without too many rules, and giving with her heart. Per her wishes, she is buried there now.

Once she heard I was sick with a fever and drove the 3 hours over the old rough trail from her place to mine to give me some homemade tea medicine and this little figure I'll show below. We were blessed to know her.

One of my 'treasures'...a Baja Patty 'Little People' figure of Villa...and memories of Patty.

Hi Steve... look again, it is on the Almanac map (2003) I posted above... on a side road about 6 miles north of Margarita... Happy New Year to you, Zully and family!
