Isla Cedros
Hola amigos, anybody knows if there is boat service (Plain and simple transportation, it's just a couple of cowboys and their mountain bikes) from say
Guerrero Negro to the isla? thanks in advance!

Punta Euginia 14 miles from the island, you can hire a panga to take you across, not sure from G. Negro.

Please be careful. More than one boat/panga has been lost in those straights between Cedros and the point.

All the locals use the salt company to transport them & their vehicles. Not sure if it's available for turistas but it's free for locals. All
the vehicles have damage on them from the sling straps used to hoist the vehicles on top of the salt on the barge.

There is an airport on Cedros and you can fly the local Guerrero Negro airline out there from Guerrero Negro... and there used to be regular service
from Ensenada on a DC-3, Aero Carga? Some Nomads have made some nice trip reports on Cedros in the past...

I would write to the airline and get permission to take the mtn bikes first, but this really seems like your best option.

Tomas in Bahia tortugas has a fish camp at Pta.Eugenia and runs a water taxi that is very economical. There is a bus from Vizcaino that goes to Bahia
Tortugas that leaves from the bus terminal mid morning every day you can catch.

I went to Cedros in 1985 for 4-days. Took the ESSA boat. Can't say as I would want to go back. I suppose it's worthy of a "Been There Done That"
patch. More cold wind went through the hotel than around it. Eqvt 25 dollars a night. Power off at 2000 hours, back on at 0600. Ate lots and lots of
abalone and lobster but I guess that's changed. It was a lonely windswept, at that time drizzly and foggy experience.

"There is regularly scheduled air service to the island from Ensenada, departing every Monday and Wednesday, and landing at an airstrip at the south
end, adjacent to the "company town," while a 10 km (6 mi) road leads to "Pueblo Cedros". Open launch rides across the channel between Cedros and the
mainland can also be arranged at the Abarrotes Ramales store in Bahia Tortugas, but travellers opting for this transport should be prepared to have a
flexible schedule with several extra days in case of inclement weather conditions in the Channel."
