anybody know when the east cape 250 is?
There have been prerunners flying down the EastCape road for a few days.
I don't want to take a leisurely drive to town during the race...

We've been told that a race from Los Barriles to Todos Santos will hold us hostage on February 9th. Hope the organizers grade the road quickly after
it is torn to shreds,

My water guy said it was on the 8th. So Saturday or Sunday, one of those. They make an inland turn to Palo Escopeta right near my house. Should be fun
to watch.
But re-grading the road? Not much of a chance of that. We are on the worst section between San Jose del and Cabo Pulmo. We usually get a scrape once a
year at Semana Santa. But we got an early one this year when the mayor's wife came out to explain the DEF assistance program to the ranchers at La
Fortuna. Guess they didn't want to jar her sacralillyack.
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.

I don't mind the road damage
Although the racers make ruts and loosen the surface
They also knock down the washboard
I like to time my trips to town just after the grader
Or just after a race
Much smoother
Needless to say
I don't go to town very often

We've heard either the 8th or the 9th. It would be nice if they would post a schedule in our village so we can stay off the road when they roar
though.I love the races but need to go to SJD on Sat.the 8th and will have to overnight in town on the 7th if the race is actually on the 8th but
there seems to be no official word ?

Feb 8 & 9 according to this website.
The race usually starts and ends with festivities at the Palmas de Cortez. This year it ends in Todos Santos.
When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through.

We just drove up thru Naranjo from the Pacific side up thru El Aguaje and Soledad. Beautiful day and altho rough the road wasn't too bad for my
Tacoma it was challenging. Beautiful pullouts and vistas! Saw one local vehicle on west side. SOC side was much easier with quite a few pickups and
cattle using the roads. Race signs (green cards w/arrows) were posted. Glad to see it before it gets tore up. Tio

These races are major hassle for anyone who isn't a racer. Heaven help you if you had a medical emergency or some other pressing reason to use the
coastal road on race day.

Vandy,
What time do the worn out Volvos pass by, and what class, or low class,
are they in? Do they play really loud musak, and dance drunk, as they
pass by?
