Depends how far southbound. Buses to Ensenada go from the Línea station; buses to anywhere further south or long-distance buses into the Mainland go
from the Central Camionera.
From Tecate, come in on Hwy. 2 and follow signs for C. CAMIONERA (you'll head south on Lázaro Cárdenas). You'll have to go past it, go over the river,
and then make half a cloverleaf on the Vía Rápida Poniente to go back northbound on Lázaro Cárdenas. Then you'll see the exit for the Central
Camionera.

You'll be leaving from the central camionera, then.

If you catch the greyhound bus to cross the border, it will take you to the main big bus terminal...makes it way easy.

Thanks, Shari, but I must leave my truck in Tecate as that is where la mula mil will end up in March. I am carrying ALL of my gear to Catavina
including saddle and pack stuff plus many 6+wks worth of food and necessities so throwing in a 2nd bus ride is not going to work. I have a friend
giving me a ride to Tijuana from Tecate.

You didn't say if you are driving from Tecate to TJ by
way of the US or driving in Mex? If driving in the US
I would take the Otay crossing into Mex, then to the
Central Bus station in TJ, maybe 3-4 mi. so./so. east
from the Otay crossing

This may be a stupid question but why don't you take the Águila bus from Tecate to Cataviña? You'll stop in Tijuana anyway, but this way you don't
need a ride. Be aware, though, that there are luggage size restrictions.

So, Baja Bucko, you can catch the bus out of Tecate south via Camionera Central in TJ or go there direct. If via Tecate, plan it so you go directly
to the Camionera in the daytime. Be sure to stay out of TJ bus terminal areas at night. Not a pretty place to be, man or woman. Period.
As to your big stash. You may need to ship it via Baja Pack which transports via the bus system and has an office in/near the terminals.
Another option: Nomads, is someone coming down who could carry Baja Bucko and/or her gear?
