Ensenada Hotel/Motel Recommendations?
We're looking for something reasonably priced for a few nights to a week, with internet IN Ensenada (not one of the surrounding beach communities).
Or if you've got a house/apartment for rent for a month or two starting in March we'd be interested in that too.
Any suggestions?

Try the Hotel Corona, semi-downtown on the Costero, across from the Riveria Convention Center, you can walk to everything.

I don't know how many Starbucks are in and around Ensenada, but they all have Wi-Fi.
Just a thought.

Thanks, but I need the internet for work for 5+ hours a day and doing that in a Starbucks or any other cafe sucks.

Hotel San Nicolas. Secured parking. A good restaurant, a large pool and a Caliente casino in the same building.

Motel Colon is still around. If there's wifi, it's not a strong signal throughout the facility. Motel America is in that area as well, same thing on
the wifi (there's wifi, but the signal strength isn't great/reliable for the rooms). Places like these tend to have an okay signal in the office, but
not in the rooms. If you need reliable wifi in the room at the hotel/motel, best to look elsewhere methinks.
As mentioned, "when in Rome".... besides the motel offices, many people use wifi at the cafes.

My comfy 'Nada hotels with wifi: Villa Fontana, El Cid and Rey Sol. I have another list of notelmotels that don't quite fit the request of this post.
Plus 1 on wifi cafes in downtown 'Nada. Most are clean, quiet and you can get lots of work done. I did a good bit of my house design in 2007 at one.
My two favorite Ensenada cafes are Cafe Arabiga on 2nd street & Blancarte and Cafe Torino on 1st(Lopez Mateos) & Blancarte. Both are rarely
crowded and the owners and staff are happy to offer additional info on what’s happening in Ensenada.
The map above shows 11 cafes, but, there are a handful of others that come and go as tourism ebbs and flows. Ensenada is in big time EBB, right now.
Starbucks, however, is always crowded and I avoid that place. But, do head to Wendlandt Cerveceria, next door, after 6PM. Wendlandt has great
selection of their brews, bottles plus SoCal microbrews like Ballast Point and Stone.
There are also dozens of restaurants that also provide wifi and all of these can be found via the Ensenada interactive map

I usually stay at the Hotel Hacienda, which ought to be called a "motel" but is spotless and cheap. (We call it "Hotel 220 Pesos" because of the sign
outside, but that rate is only if you don't intend to stay the whole night.) Usually on weeknights it's 390 pesos.
Secure gated (offsite but adjacent and firmly locked) parking, Wi-Fi throughout, relatively quiet, walking distance from everything. It's at 2nd and
Alvarado, two blocks from the giant flag.
Second the Wendlandt recommendation.

My favorite Hotel Sena, right across the street from Hotel Coral, good wifi, very clean, with a drive in garage that closes your car in your little
casita room, and 320 the whole night. Very quiet. It's one of those no tell motels, but the staff is extremely friendly and no one bothers you, and
very nice for the price.

If you stay in the Hacienda, DO NOT TURN ON THE TELEVISION WITH CHILDREN IN THE ROOM. They do get regular channels, but they tend to be tuned to that
one channel... ahem.

A third vote for the San Nicolas ! I love that place for being right near everything. The secure parking is great!

One more for San Nicolas. Love the secure parking, good wifi. The owner, Nico, is a great human.
Circa mid-2000s, my wife and I saw President Felipe Calderón, with entourage, get out of a car and walk up the steps to the hotel while we were
leaving the place.

That's only about $75. Great price for a great place to stay!

We stayed here last year not knowing that it was a no-tell.
Once you get past the awkwardness of the room service menu and the, uh, 'lounge chair', it was actually a quite pleasant and secure place to stay.
To top it off, you get about TEN channels, including one devoted ENTIRELY to how to use the 'lounge chair'! http://forums.bajanomad.com/images/smilies/eureka.gif
