New Tax as it relates to Fideicomisos
Hola, I just got my bill for this years Fideicomiso and it increased $66.40 USD. The bill explained that the increase was due to the tax increase.
Has anybody else had this happen?

X2. At my bank, my fidi went up 5%.
Was with a friend and went to Banco Interacciones so he could pay his.
There was a big sign in the office - "Due to the new tax increase, all fideicomiso fees would be increased 16%".
He questioned it and said the the increase was only 5% to make a total of 16% and not 16% additional. Eventually, he wound up paying the additional
16%. (and grumbled about it all through happy hour!!!)

yes, mine went up as well. But, at least you received a response as to why it went up. I questioned it and never received a response.

Well, now I'm really confused. I did the math on my fide billing and the cost went up 14.95% - WTF? Our previous billings were $444.00 USD, this
upcoming years is going to be $510.40 USD. So it looks like with the tax rate of 16% as opposed to the 11% it was in the past, my increase should be
$22.20, not $66.40. But at the bottom of this years bill it states: "YOUR TRUST CONTRACT ESTABLISH WILL BE AN INCREASE OF THE 10% EVERY 4 YEARS. IN
2014 YOUR ANNUAL FEES WILL CHANGE." [sic] So I'm thinking that Banco Interacciones folks added on the 5% tax increase along with the 10% increase due
every 4 years on my fide (since this is the 4th year we've had it). Does this make sense or am I just losing it!!!

You are right on -
Sounds like your original contract price was $400 USD/yr.
Plus the old 11% IVA. 400 + 11% = $444 /yr.
The contract escalation clause was 10%.
So, new contract price will be 400 +10% = $440 /yr.
Add the new 16% IVA, 440 + 16% = $510.40 /yr.
My Fideicomiso contract also has an escalation clause of 10% at no less than a 4 year interval. The actual clause states "...the bank may choose to
exercise this clause no more frequently than once every four years."
The fidi has been in effect for 14 years and the bank has never "chosen" to raise the fees. (Different bank than Interacciones) This years increase
was simply 5% additional IVA.
