Here in Playas de TJ Pemex, Wallmart and the like are giving an even 13.

The Buy at most cambios is 12.8 mas o menas. As you know that can vary by the hour.

I don't know but I'm sure it is much worse than you'll get at an ATM

With a five dollar Wells Fargo fee plus a (now) 53 pesos per use fee, it takes a relatively robust extraction from an ATM to best the honest Casa de Cambios at San Ysidro.

Banamex and HSBC both charge about 30 pesos.

OK, but 800 miles to the norte, I got 12.5 at a local bank and that gives me a basis to cross the border without stopping. Worth it for me.

that's a lot of cement

i'm with most of you...i'm happy at 12.5
I cant believe the bank up north gave pesos out

UBOC has a good withdrawal policy. They refund the bank charge of 30 pesos. They reduced the amount of refunds to 2 a month, from unlimited. They still do not charge a fee.
Last Friday I got 6000 pesos for 456.xx including the 30 pesos charge. Had it been my 2nd for the month it would have cost me $454.xx.
