L A Bay to San Felipe
How far is it from LA bay to San Felipe? Is there gas available on the way? I know they used to sell gas rancho grande in Gonzaga. It's been 15 years
since we drove it last.

About 200 miles Steve... Top your tank at L.A. Bay and you can make San Felipe... there is a Pemex station across the highway from Rancho Grande
(Alfonsina's Pemex) and one in Puertecitos (take paved side road into town).

If the PMEX is abandoned and if in a panic situation go into Rancho Grande store/restaurant and ask for gas. They have a pump behind the store. Had to
use it a couple of times after driving a lot of the back country thereabouts.

Even when the pemex in GB is open, it looks closed , check inside. No one stays out side. They stay in the store / office

This.. and (in the past) they close for Siesta (2-4 pm)! Viva Baja!
Seriously, I hope you have at least a 200+ mile range in what you drive... No need for gas between L.A. Bay and San Felipe if so.

There is usually gas at Chapala (where you turn off Highway 1 onto a gravel road). There is also usually gas at Rancho Grande, and usually at
Puertecitos. Get it when you can (ok, probably not at every stop).

When I went through GB in March 2011 they were out of fuel. Sure wish we knew about the Rancho Grande store.
