Read the Colo River is low, along with at least one pipe
that draws water from Mead for Vegas is going to become
unuseable, due to low water. It was reported every person
in So. Cal. uses 100 gal per day, 60% fo So. Cal. water
goes to irrigation. Things will change if drought continues. Don't know if the predicted return of the El Nino weather
pattern will change the status

to reconnect the Colorado to the sea — temporarily.
If advocates hope to restore the flow for good, they will have to persuade users to consume less and cooperate even more."
A very serious situation for a LOT of people that depend on that river to live

------absolutely correct, and that includes the Mexicali Valley in Mexico where they attempt to maintain Ag production on land at least equal to and
actually larger than the Imperial Valley of SoCal, plus Mexicali itself, a community close to a million folks now, as I understand it.
This water-surge giving a channel-clearing boost to the Delta area of Mexico is incredibly important in attempting to restore invaluable habitat and
health to a vibrant Delta ecosystem, long neglected.
This has been done before, with great success, over the years. My son and I & friends ran the "surge" in the '80's in canoes from just below the
Dam all the way to the Sea and it was like going on safari into a million + acre bird and wildlife sanctuary--------absolutely incredible what the
"surge" did to help the Delta over several months.
