1 liter?

Really?

OMG!!!

What will happen if you allow 2 liters/per person?

Will the American economy breakdown?

People bring back whatever they have in their truck and rarely declare what's in the back.

Total lame laws.

Chill the heck out.

Having said that, officially, I bring only beer remnants across the border. A random Tecate.............make sure you leave no evidence.

3 cans of beer per person is allowed for Californians (12 oz x 3 = 36 oz pretty close to a liter)

Yo derek;

I was surprised when the CBP informed me the the 6 pack was twice the amount allowed. One liter of beer. That's it. I guess it's like only two dorado.

This is old news, but germane to this thread. Around Xmas time in 1979 I crossed north at the San Ysidro border with 10 cases of Pacifico in my boat trailed behind my camper. (that's 200 beers) I declared the beers, said they were gifts for amigos in ND, and that I wanted to pay the import duty.

They sent me to secondary where the overworked agent took one look at the load, asked me where I was headed, and I told him...North Dakota. He pointedly said, 'Listen up. You're going straight to ND, right? You are NOT stopping in California, RIGHT?' I clued in and said, 'No sir, I am not going to stop in California.'

He said, "Good. Have a Merry Christmas on Uncle Sam and get outta here."

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

State Limit

Read the fine print.........if you have Calif DL and registration, you are limited.

">>>>>>>>>>>Most States restrictions on the amount of alcohol that can be brought into that State apply only to residents of that State. Usually people transiting a state are not subject to those restrictions, but sometimes regulations change, and if this is a matter of utmost importance to you, you can check with the state Alcohol Beverage Control Board where you will be arriving to find out what their policies are.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<"

Keep reading the article and follow the link to the "Tarriffs" page:
http://www.usitc.gov/publications/docs/tata/hts/bychapter/09...

As usual, the regulations seem to be written by the same govt employees that write the IRS tax gobbledegook.....

It appears that the tariff is 13.2 cents/liter or about 12 cents/12 oz bottle.

There are several footnotes, conditions, asterisks, cross-references, etc.

If you really want to know, keep digging......

Better yet, just drink the beer before the border!

Never did have much luck no matter what I said. Like avocados. Try bringing ONE back. Has nothing to do with disease.
