Easter Sunday

Just realized we are planning on going thru Mexicali on Easter Sunday. Will we be able to get tourist cards then?

Yes, you will, but count on VERY SLOW TRAFFIC through Mexicali and most other populated areas of Baja.

Have a great trip. If you head out early, most people will be at church.

Someone here recently asked about a rumor he heard
about driving in Mex on a Sun., due to possible
borracho drivers on the Hwy, that has always been
something I avoid. I've camped in town, San Felipe
on a non holiday Sun., in the hotter months when many
Mexicali residents go to SF to escape the heat, have
seen many drink until 5pm, load up and head no.,
without a doubt under the influence. I'm sure there
stats to back that up. There are at times, temp billboards warning of drinking and driving, around Semana Santa. Easter Sun., in the AFTERNOON
I can think of no worse time to be Hwy driving in Mex

Go really early. All the Mexicans will be sleeping it off.

I did a day trip down to Rosarito yesterday to buy a Talavera sink and some tile. When I got to the Tecate border crossing upon my return I was in line for just a hair under 2 hours. I'll never cross on a Sunday again.

Yes, avoid weekends if you can and particularly the Easter holidays. and if you can't then EARLY is the key word like many fellows already mentioned.
Have a safe trip!
