Actually Alm, I think we're both wrong. I agree that mostly what one hears is "hey", that is because the real sound that the letters make isn't part of the English language, and we can't easily pronounce it. My original "ge" like in gente is only just closer than "hey".

Someone who speaks better Spanish than me can correct me, but I think a "g" before an "e" or an "i" is the same as a "j". That "j" is pronounced as a gutteral sound like a Scottish loCH. or Music by BaCH. aCHtung! in German. The terminal "e" is pronounced just like the English thEy, but without the sound of the "y". It is a really hard sound for most English speakers to make, but I can hear it when Mulege' is spoken by a native with good diction. Anyone know for sure?

I always used to make sure my big tank only had had "good" water in it, when in an emergency I put questionable water in it, I didn't feel the same about it even after it sanitized the tank!?
