If I'm cooking, hot dogs are always good - with chili and onions; fresh fruit, cabbage salad (cabbage stays pretty fresh for a while), quesadillas. Canned ham with onions and potatoes fried up itogether s good. And the Tasty Bite indian dinners are pretty flavorful - heat and eat - eat with couscous for more bulk.

Jeez, I have all that in my Cocina, but my truck camper fridge and solar freezer only holds so much, I think I will go get a couple choke hearts do chilled TEQ and watch chef ramsey

speaking of dog food.....anyone eat this stuff? there's a half dozen varieties, a couple taste the same, a couple don't taste like anything, but this one is pretty good with eggs and cheese. It would take a microscope to read the ingredients but I assume theres some meat products that were left after anything of value was gone and a bunch of soy product. I think it would be great for camping, and its cheap!

Potatoes; onions; fresh pasilla (poblano) chiles; queso fresco & cilantro optional; hot sauce; corn or flour tortillas. Dice first three and stir fry in olive oil. Eat on tortillas. Add optional cheese & cilantro & hot sauce. Add eggs if you like. A camping staple. Yum!

Right on Marla. Will add variety to machaca burritos, machaca burritos & machaca burritos on the trail . . .

Canned meat. Not spam, but canned chicken , beef, or I used to can elk and deer meat before I had a camper with a reefer. Makes great machaca or stew.

Potatoes....can be baked with a aluminum foil in a camp fire or stove top in a covered pot. Good for hash browns. Got oil? Then you got French fries over a flaming fire. Very universal for meals. Stores long for trips.

Canned Bacon http://www.mredepot.com/servlet/StoreFront
The bacon is fantastic BTW

Powered drink mixes including tea. Light weight and fast to make. Water is always around in The Baja. Well...most of of the time :-)
