Just curious, why do you buy premium instead of regular? One of my motorcycle manuals directs me to use premium which I do. But I don't notice any
difference if it has regular.

One of the main points of made in USA premium Pemex gasoline is that it is virtually free of sulfur. Sulfur may be desirable in diesel but it's pure
poison in gasoline. With made in Mexico Magna my car runs like crap after a ha;d dozen tankful's of Mexican Magna. Mileage drops, the car stalls
repeatedly when cold. I am forced to add Chevron Techron. It's just cheaper for me to use premium. But it's a waste IMHO if it does not make a
difference. The car can use Baja California Magna but not Baja California Sur Magna.

For most it is a waste of money and does little more than regular. However, for the few with higher compression engines, turbo charges, or hauling
heavy loads up grades in desert heat, premium has a lower ignition point and is less likely to 'pre-ignite' ("ping"). Pinging is the rattling of your
pistons as they try to move up against a flame front caused by gas that ignites before the spark plug does.
Low octane gas (for the conditions) can also 'diesel' or keep igniting after you turn your motor off.
Never allow either to happen, add octane booster or run higher octane gas if available. Ignition timing may also be off.

I read in an RV forum that it is a good idea to use an engine oil, made for diesel truck engines, in a motor home gas/454 engine.
Does this make any sense to you being that the truck oil may contain sulfur and you say it's poison? (I assume you meant poison to the engine vs. air
pollution poison). Maybe you or others have some knowledge of engine oil.

Using 'verde' gas in my 2000 Toyota Echo and 1998 Tacoma has not shown any signs of any problems, i.e. no pinging, no stalling, no lack of power or
pickup...ever. I wonder if other Toyota owners have the same experience as I have with the low octane verde(?)

Filled up yesterday 4/29/14 in Playas de TJ. Using a $ peso rate of 12.6 it came out to $3.75 a gallon for verde. Here in San Diego side its hard to
find gas much less than 4.25 so it saves you about $US 10 per tank.
Plus of course in TJ its full service, windows washed, $MX 5 P tip, girls trying to sell you cookies, and then head to the beach.

Wilbur, I think Dennis, SlyOnce, and durrellrobert gave you some good information. The rest...meh, but this tread is the primary reason I rarely
